Of all the spectator sports, football has been at the top of my "least hated" list. As a teenager and young adult, I would tolerate it for my family and friends. All that changed when I saw Barry Sanders play football. That man would run at full throttle, dodging in and out, twisting and twirling - DANCING his way through packs of defense. He didn't know how to stop. Even when he fell, he was always on his way back up -- continuously in motion, much to the consternation of his opponents, who were always a fingertip or one failed grasp away.
Since then, there have been few I've seen that begin to compare with Barry Sanders. I care nothing for statistics or technicalities. For me, it is all about game play. Barry mastered play.
Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate and happy holidays to all around the world.
That was breathtaking!
