"Eat, Pray, Love" has been made into a motion picture. I'm not sure how I feel about this, as I have often felt that movies ruin stories rather than enhance them. I saw a short interview with Elizabeth Gilbert during which I got the impression that the movie is more about marriage than it is about her wonderful spiritual and cultural journey. The end of her marriage was the catalyst, but the story itself had much more to do with independence than anything else. If you haven't read the book and plan to see the movie, please read the book first!

After the author's marriage ends, she goes on a self-driven pilgrimage to Italy, India, and Indonesia. In each place, she learns something new about living life to its fullest. Though I could not connect with the author on a peer-to-peer basis (the idea of being able to afford to pick up and go like that is far beyond me), I did connect on an emotional and mental level. She's a fantastic writer and has much to offer in the way of teaching people what is really necessary for living a full life. "Eat, Pray, Love" is a bestseller for a reason: It's GOOD!
