I have never had much use for the games hosted on Facebook. While dozens of my friends and family were building up their farms on Farmville, recruiting for the Mafia and handing out sweets from Willy's Sweet Shop, I was too busy working to waste valuable time on games.
Then, I agreed to write an article about Zoo World. I installed the application and started my research. Well, I received a good review for the article, but have yet to disable Zoo World.
I don't like my time being at the mercy of hungry animals or worrying about whether or not I'll make enough zoo dollars to continue breeding. I hate that in order to truly advance, I will need to BUY wildlife coins. Paying out my cash money to buy virtual animals, decorations and the right to move up in a world for which I see no real profit just does not make sense to me. So, for now, it is advancing very slowly... and taking up too much of my time.
Oh, I am getting my work done. I pride myself on that, but valuable personal time should not be taken away by a virtual zoo.
About Zoo World: It's fun, but it's addictive.
Thanks for the warning. I tend to be addicted easily.
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a Facebook fan in general, but REALLY don't get the concept of the games there. I know people that spend hours and hours doing them, and as you said, pay real cash to advance faster. Not impressed!
ReplyDeleteI remember Sim City. I used to get so stressed and the citizens were so ungrateful, always moaning. I just play solitaire these days...
ReplyDeleteYou know, I have to give those Facebook App developers some respect. Great idea for making money! I almost wish I'd thought of it (of course I'd have to be a programmer, but that's beside the point... and of course, I'd have to be willing to prey on people's weakness..). Nah. I have a conscience. * sigh * I haven't stopped using Zoo World, by the way - but I have definitely cut down.
