Keyword Density COUNTS

... but keyword density is not as important as it used to be. The fact is that Google didn't use to have any other way of finding relevant information searchers were looking for. Now, the new way of doing things incorporates a smart move from Google.

It is called LSI, or latent semantic indexing. Google's fantastic software now recognizes phrasing that is relevant to keywords. LSI is great because if your page lacks it (as with keyword stuffing), the search engine will rate another site higher on the page because it is filled with great quality LSI.

Does this mean that keyword density does not count? It doesn't mean that at all. In terms of organic SEO, using a primary keyword phrase around 1 percent of the time within your latent semantic indexed content DOES matter to search engines. Google pays attention.

Check it out: search engine optimized keyword density does still count.
